This page is under construction . . . In the mean time, you can find my handmade pin cushions in my Etsy shop:

Vintage reproduction fabrics were chosen for this pin cushion: A pretty yellow dots and "fuzzy" ivory dots print was used for the pocket and a graphite gray alpha-numeric print on ivory for the cushion. I chose a whimsical, giant-eyed ivory ceramic button for a decorative accent. Heather gray acrylic/wool embroidery thread was used for the embroidery embellishments and to attach the button.

I use only 100% cotton, quilting-weight fabrics, quality Aurifil sewing and embroidery threads, and specially selected buttons from my vintage and antique buttons collection. The cushions are well-stuffed with polyester fiber fill.

My pin cushions are made using a pattern I designed in 2005 (I still use a few of the pin cushions I made back then!). These heart cushions were originally designed for use as either a pin cushion or as a Tooth Fairy pillow. The top heart is finished on both sides and is hand-sewn to the larger heart pillow along the outside edge to make a pocket. A child can place their tooth in the pocket at night for a visit from the Tooth Fairy. Used as a pin cushion, the quilter or other sewist uses the top surface to store their pins and needles. Consider tucking a tape measure, seam ripper, or other small sewing gadgets, into the pocket along with a few pins stuck in for a thoughtful sewing-themed gift.
